ABDOMEN/PELVIS ultrasound:

No eating, no drinking, no smoking, no chewing gum 6 hours prior to your exam. 

1 hour prior, empty your bladder then drink 32 oz/or 1 litre of water. A full bladder is required to have this exam. Do not empty your bladder until your exam is completed. Refrain from wearing perfume or scented lotion.



PELVIS/ trans-vaginal ultrasound:

1 hour prior your exam, empty your bladder then drink 32 oz/or 1 litre of water.

A full bladder is required to have this exam. Do not empty your bladder until your exam is completed. Refrain from wearing perfume or scented lotion.


PELVIS/ male:

1 hour prior your exam, empty your bladder then drink 32 oz/or 1 litre of water.

A full bladder is required to have this exam. Do not empty your bladder until your exam is completed. Refrain from wearing cologne or scented lotion.



OBSTETRICAL ultrasounds:

1 hour prior your exam, empty your bladder then drink 32 oz/or 1 litre of water. After 28 weeks of pregnancy drink 16 oz of water. A full bladder is required to have this exam, Do not empty your bladder until your exam is completed.

Pregnancy, Dating & Viability, IPS, Biophysical profile (BPP), Morphology, Ectopic, Growth, Twins Growth, TWINS Cervix length. Refrain from wearing perfume or scented lotion.



SALINE Infusion (SIS or Sapingosonogram) or

Tubal patency (Sonohysterogram echovist, Hycosyinfertility test):

Patient must have had a pelvis ultrasound done in the last 6 months and provide us the pelvic ultrasound report for this exam.

No preparation, please arrive 15 minutes prior to your exam, as you will be asked to empty your bladder and sign a consent at the reception. You can call to schedule this appointment on the first day of your next menstrual cycle. We can schedule this appointment on day 5 to day 8 of your menstrual cycle. You should not be bleeding for this exam. Take Advil or Tylenol, 30 minutes before your appointment. Refrain from smoking, wearing perfume or scented lotion.



FOLLICULAR TRACKING:

1 hour prior to the exam, empty your bladder then drink 32 ounces or 1 litre of water. A full bladder is required to have this exam. Do not empty your bladder until your exam is completed. Refrain from smoking, wearing perfume or scented lotion.



BREAST ultrasound:

No preparation needed, however refrain from smoking, wearing perfume or scented lotion.



PROSTATE/ trans-rectal ultrasound:

Insert a glycerine suppository 2 hours prior your exam. Empty bowels 1.5 hour before the exam.

Empty bladder and drink 34 ounces or 1 litre of water 1 hour before your exam. A full bladder is required to have this exam, do not empty your bladder until the exam is completed. Refrain from smoking, wearing cologne or scented lotion.



VASCULAR ultrasounds:

Carotid, AAA, Upper Extremities Venous, Lower extremities venous, Upper extremities arterial, Lower extremities arterial, DVT, Insufficiency: 

No preparation needed, however please refrain from smoking 1 hour prior to your exam.

Do not wear perfume, scented lotion or cologne. 



THYROID/ NECK ultrasound:

No preparation needed, however please refrain from smoking 1 hour prior to your exam.

Do not wear perfume, scented lotion or cologne.



​SURFACE/ LUMPS & BUMPS ultrasound:

No preparation needed, however please refrain from smoking 1 hour prior to your exam. 

Do not wear perfume, scented lotion or cologne.



MSK/ tendons (Muskuloskeletal):

 No preparation needed, however please refrain from smoking, wearing perfume, scented lotion or cologne. Includes tendon tears such as tears of rotator cuff in shoulder or Achilles tendon in ankles, Muscle tendons, ligaments, joints and benign or malignant soft tissues tumors. Changes in early rheumatoid arthritis.




A No show fee of $50.00 will apply for missed appointments or cancellation less then 48 hours before scheduled appointments.


How should I prepare for my ultrasound exam?  


Please read  your ultrasound exam preparations carefully and arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to register at the reception.

All requisitions are accepted including those from other medical facilities and hospitals.
